In the 2012-2013 academic year, I was elected as a student senator at UC Berkeley’s student government (ASUC). I fought to defend funding for public higher education in CA by campaigning students to pass Prop 30, pushed for a Multicultural Student Development taskforce to address the transformative needs of students of color, and helped establish a scholarship for AB 540 students. I could not have done this without the help of the REACH! API Recruitment and Retention Center, the Cal Berkeley Democrats, and my great senate office team members.
